The Islamic faith is a rich and beautiful ocean that embraces diversity regardless of a persons’ nationality, race or culture. And one just like the faith itself, one of its traditional practices for women and girls – the hijab (Khimar), is just as diverse being worn in a variety of ways and with various colors and styles. It’s also one of the most misunderstood practices within Islam, often times being misunderstood as a form of oppression against women and girls.

Needless to say, nothing can be further from the truth, and our latest book of the month; “Under My Hijab” written by Hena Khan honors that diversity, contemporary Muslim women and girls, love for each other, pride in their culture and faith.
